Overview of SAIM ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB


A) INTRODUCTION

SAIM Entrepreneurship Club's main aim is to provide a forum for students to network and share ideas, provide an environment that will foster innovation and entrepreneurship and help students cultivate and develop their own ideas. The learning experience in this club will be helpful in establishing their own new venture.

Club has main motto of sparking the zeal for new, creative and innovative business ideas within the heart and mind of students. Club will also play a major role to make them aware of several steps to be followed in commercialization of their ideas; via entrepreneurship.

This club will be focusing on MBA students from SAIM. Club also encourages all students other than MBA from SAIM itself and also welcomes other students from different colleges to participate in the forum.

B) OBJECTIVES

Primary Objective
To transfer at least 50% of MBA students from SAIM in the path of entrepreneurship after graduation.

Other Objectives
        i.            To share knowledge, experience and ideas
      ii.            To establish a platform for networking
    iii.            To develop leadership, communication and several other entrepreneurship skills
    iv.            To discuss and analyze various globally burning business issues

C) PROGRAMS AND EVENTS

Discussion Forum
·         Bi-weekly discussion forum
·         Brainstorming of new innovative ideas
·         Business idea generation and sharing
·         Paper presentation about some relevant topic
·         Video (Relevant business topic) display and discussion
·         Case analysis (Primarily of Nepal)
·         Motivating question and answer round with some rewards
Using - "Learning with Fun" Strategy

Guest Training
·         At least once in two months
·         Effective training on micro issue of entrepreneurship by renounced expert
·         Motivating and positive training
Using both "one way" and "two way" session equally

Publication
·         Printing and distribution of summarized reports, news and activities of club via newsletter.
·      Collection of news/articles about entrepreneurship in Nepal from national newspaper or from any published materials and then distribution via handouts, facebook, mail and notice board for the purpose of motivation and information sharing.

·         Long-term goal of publishing one book with success stories of some entrepreneurs from Nepal for motivation purpose.

Facilitation
Students who start or plan to start own venture will be facilitated from club via:
·         Providing necessary information, ideas
·         Showing some way for financing help
·         Helping to build network and do promotion
·         Providing 'Rescue ideas' if necessary

D) STRATEGIES

Tools for discussions
Proposed Methods of discussions
        i.            Host raise topic to be discussed - Random and systematic review, comment and feedback - documentation
      ii.            Prior prepared paper presentation on some issue by one participant/club - for and against discussions, evaluation, comments and feedback - documentation
    iii.            Business case prior mail - discussion on solutions to the problems in the case -  documentation
    iv.            Video display on some business issue - discussion and evaluation - documentation
      v.            News sharing - discussions/Analysis - documentation
    vi.            Q/A sessions, Management games
  vii.            Pictures of entrepreneurs/brands etc. to identify - identification by participants - rewards
viii.            Any other tools suggested by participants and advisory team

Information flow
·         Close facebook group adding all students from MBA
·         Topic for next discussion forum is decided in earlier forum and then notified to all general members via facebook, notice board, mail or any other best possible medium
·         Regular documents and reports are also forwarded to all general members.

How?
o   Collection of Name and other details of all general members
o   Adding all general members to close facebook group

E) ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONCEPT
